Update on the Integrated Paris Declaration and Fragile States Principles Survey

National consultations have been held in all 13 countries and territories participating in the 2011 integrated monitoring surveys for the Paris Declaration and the Principles for Good International Engagement in Fragile States and Situations. The consultations were all organised by host governments with support from UNDP and other international actors. They brought together national and international stakeholders to reflect on ways to enhance international engagement in these countries.

Green Growth and Development Workshop

OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) is organising a workshop on "Green Growth and Development" on 28 June. This one-day workshop aims to provide an interactive platform for discussion among representatives from developing countries, environmental specialist from development agencies, and invited guest speakers on the relevance of green growth to developing countries.

Aid for Trade to the LDCs: Starting to Show Results

Since the adoption of the Brussels Programme of Action for Least Developed Countries in 2001, the share of the Least Developed Countries in world merchandise trade has increased and some of this improved capacity to trade is attributable to USD 73 billion donors committed to trade-related aid programmes. This new publication, a joint OECD-WTO contribution to the Fourth UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries (Istanbul, Turkey, 9-13 May), shows the results achieved by some of these programmes and the lessons to be learned.

Earth Day on DEReC - highlights from evaluation

The focus on integrating environmental factors into development assistance has grown in the past years. The selected reports, from Finland and the Asian Development Bank, highlight positive steps that have been taken, and remaining challenges: from the need for clear definitions of environmental objectives, to the lack of ownership by environmental agencies of capacity development projects.

Aid risks: Key conclusions and recommendations for fragile and transitional contexts

International engagement in fragile and transitional contexts presents significant risks for donors and implementing partners but holds the potential for even higher rewards in terms of improved results and outcomes. Importantly, the risks of failing to engage in these contexts outweigh most of the risks of engagement. "Aid risks in fragile and transitional contexts" reviews donor approaches to risk management and recommends actions to improve donor behaviour and approaches to risk.
