This Database contains the ecological categorization results for substances on the Canadian Domestic substance list and the supporting data on: Inherent toxicity, Persistency and Bioaccumulation.

OECD and IEA recommend reforming fossil-fuel subsidies to improve the economy and the environment

PESTICIDES: Guidance Document on Crop Field Trials

Crop Field Trials (also referred to as supervised field trials) are conducted to determine the magnitude of the pesticide residue in or on raw agricultural commodities, including feed items, and should be designed to reflect pesticide use patterns that lead to the highest possible residues. While the OECD Guideline for the Testing of Chemicals on Crop Field Trial (TG 509, in September 2009) provides a harmonized approach to conducting and reporting crop field trials in OECD countries, this Guidance Document will help in planning the trials in OECD countries and in interpreting the results.

The Guidance Document on Pathogenicity Factors in Assessing the Potential Adverse Health Effects of Micro-organisms, number 52 in the Series on Harmonisation of Regulatory Oversight in Biotechnology, is now available online. It addresses the concept of bacterial pathogenicity in the context of risk/safety assessment of deliberate release of ‘genetically engineered’ micro-organisms intended for commercial environmental applications.
