2006 Survey on Monitoring the Paris Declaration - Overview of the results

How effective is aid at helping developing countries eradicate poverty? In March 2005, more than 100 countries made a firm commitment in the Paris Declaration to measure their success, or failure, in making aid more effective. This landmark report provides a snapshot of the state of affairs in 2005.

2006 Survey on Monitoring the Paris Declaration - Country Chapters

34 countries that receive aid participated in a groundbreaking survey to measure the effectiveness of aid. Generally encouraging, the results show that developing countries and donors are working hard to made aid work better.

Pilot Orientation Workshops

Report from the Latin American and Caribbean regional workshop on Harmonisation and Alignment

The Regional Workshop on Harmonization and Alignment for Latin America and the Caribbean: Exercising Leadership to Accelerate Change, was held in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, on October 9 through 11, 2006. This workshop was to review and reinforce the implementation of the Paris Declaration at the country level.

Pilot countries selected

 22 countries from Africa, Asia and Latin America and the Caribbean have been selected as pilot countries in the Pilot Exercise. The purpose of this exercise is to field test the new, common methodology under different country conditions in order to improve the quality and the usefulness of the methodology and to support an improved policy dialogue between partner countries and their development partners about procurement reforms and capacity development.

2006 Asia Regional Forum

The objective of this 3 day event was to facilitate implementation of the Paris Declaration in the Asian and Pacific regions at the political level as well as at the working level among Asian and Pacific partner countries and donors.

Retrofit Concept Note

In order to produce some data for Indicator 2b (Reliable Procurement Systems) in time for the 2006 Survey on Monitoring the Paris Declaration, the Co-Chairs have approved the attached Concept Note regarding a "retrofit" exercise. This approach will involve the BLIs of  the version 4 Benchmark and Assessment Tool being re-applied in a limited number of countries where earlier versions of the tool have been used.
