54 country chapters of the 2008 Survey on Monitoring the Paris Declaration

Volume 2 of the 2008 Survey on Monitoring the Paris Declaration includes a detailed analysis for each of the 55 countries that undertook the survey. Each of the survey was managed by the national coordinator, appointed by the government, in cooperation with the local donor community.

It assesses progress in 54 developing countries and helps us understand the challenges in making aid more effective in order to advance development.

The documentation for the 2008 Survey on Monitoring the Paris Declaration is available in English, French, and Spanish and can be downloaded from the dedicated website. Fifty-six countries participated in this survey. The survey was carried out between 2 January - 31 March 2008.

2009 Regional Procurement Workshop in Cairo

The OECD Joint Venture on Procurement along with the Egyptian Government, the World Bank, DFID and the UNDP held a Regional Procurement Workshop in Cairo on 30, 31 March - 1 April 2009. The Joint Venture seeks to raise awareness on OECD/DAC Procurement assessment methodology, discuss roles of stakeholders in procurement assessments including civil society, private sector and donors, and share experiences and learning during and after the workshop.

Better Aid: Managing Development Resources

Improving the rules and institutions governing these activities should be a major component of any development approach.

High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness

The Accra High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness will reform the way developed and developing countries work together, to ensure that development assistance is well-spent and that it helps build sustainable economies that lift people out of poverty. The Forum is open to media. Journalists are welcome in the Media Centre, which is equipped with wifi. They are also invited to join a field trip to a development project near Accra.

International Public Procurement Conference

The International Public Procurement Conference (IPPC) is a meeting place for public procurement professionals and academics from all over the world, in the area of public procurement. The third IPPC will take place in Amsterdam from 28 to 30 August 2008. The conference is shaped around papers submitted by international members of the academic world as well as the world of everyday public procurement practice. About 100 papers, with a wide diversity of topics, have been submitted.

Third Meeting of the JV on Procurement

The third meeting of the Joint Venture on Procurement took place in Arusha from 5 – 7 May, at the invitation of the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority of Tanzania in collaboration with the African Development Bank. This meeting brought together procurement professionals and interested development practioners from multilateral and bilateral development organisations and from partner countries around the world. The meeting took place in the context of implementing the procurement-related aspects of the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness. (español)
