The OECD iLibrary, the new platform giving seamless and comprehensive access to statistical data, books, journals and working papers, is now available. It replaces SourceOECD and hosts all content equally so users can find - and cite - tables and databases as easily as articles or chapters. The citation tool for datasets and tables is new and unique to the OECD iLibrary.

The world economic recovery may be slowing faster than previously anticipated, according to the OECD’s latest Interim Economic Assessment. Growth in the Group of Seven countries is expected to be around 1½ per cent on an annualized basis in the second half of 2010 compared with the previous estimate of around 2½ per cent in the OECD’s May Economic Outlook.

On 7 September 2010, Israel deposited its instrument of accession to the OECD Convention, thereby becoming a member of the Organisation. Israel was invited by OECD countries to open negotiations for membership in May 2007.

Average tax and social security burdens on employment incomes fell slightly in 24 out of 30 OECD countries last year as governments struggled to shore up faltering economies amid the worst recession in decades. But whether this trend will continue this year is uncertain given the widespread pressures on public budgets.
