Green growth in the Benelux - Indicators of local transition to a low-carbon economy in cross-border regions - Final report
This paper discusses the results of the 2011-2012 OECD LEED study of measuring green growth in the Benelux countries (Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxembourg). The study paid particular attention to the challenges of measuring the transition to a low-carbon economy in cross-border areas as they have additional levels of complexity when it comes to measuring and monitoring their low-carbon transition.
Since 1997, the Netherlands has had a tax allowance scheme that was introduced to promote investments in energy-saving technologies and sustainable energy production. This so-called Energy
Investment Tax Allowance (EIA in Dutch) reduces up-front investment costs for firms investing in the newest energy-saving and sustainable energy technologies.
The Co-operative Research Programme (CRP)'s Call for Applications for conference sponsorship and research fellowships for 2015 will open in March 2014. The CRP supports work on sustainable use of natural resources in agriculture, forests, fisheries and food production.
