The High Level Consultation was organised by the MENA-OECD Initiative on Governance and Investment for Development. It provided an opportunity to discuss the impact of recent events in the region on the MENA-OECD Initiative on Governance and Investment for Development and provided inputs to its future orientation. This event is timely as it occurs within the context of important development in the MENA region that has opened a window of opportunity to build more transparent and efficient governance and economic management systems.
This High Level Consultation brought together key governmental stakeholders from MENA and OECD countries, civil society representatives, and business actors.
The consultation was followed by technical meetings in the afternoon to discuss ongoing and planned projects in the areas of public governance and business climate development.
In the field of public governance, the MENA-OECD Initiative High Level Consultation developed key thematic areas of focus and raised the importance of policy tools.
