Emerging economies, emerging leaderships: Arab women and youth as drivers of change, will take place on 15-17 May 2012 in Sharjah, UAE.
The conference is organised by the Arab International Women’s Forum in partnership with the MENA-OECD Investment Programme and the World Bank.
The conference will bring together global leaders from business, government and civil society to discuss ways to promote specific initiatives to boost employment for women and youth in the Arab world.
The Secretariat of the Women’s Business Forum will a submit a paper for discussion at the conference on “Empowering SMEs: Economic Development and the New Arab World” which will highlight the need to enhance women’s enterprise development in the MENA region as a means to enhance SME development in the region. The paper will be based on early research by the Women’s Business Forum and the MENA-OECD Programme’s research on SME development and will be circulated in due course.
