Strengthening integrity in the public and private sectors in the Middle East and North Africa

Public-private partnerships (PPPs) can play an important role for inclusive and sustainable growth in Tunisia. Towards this end the Government of Tunisia is working with the OECD to operationalise the country's forthcoming PPP law, designed to promote transparency, efficiency and effectiveness of public spending, and to help the government of Tunisia meet its public policy objectives.
The goal of the River Ports PPP Project is to substantially increase transport of cargo by river within the next five years via private sector participation in river ports development, thereby reducing road congestion, pollution and expenditure on fuel subsidies.
The objective was to identify, prioritise and discuss with the Jordanian authorities the possible actions required to enhance the applicable framework for private sector participation in renewable energy projects
