The OECD Secretary-General will be in Rome on Thursday 2nd May to present the 2013 OECD Economic Survey of Italy with Fabrizio Saccomanni, Minister of Economy and Finance. Mr. Angel Gurría will also meet with several high level officials, including Mr. Letta and Mr. Enrico Giovannini, Minister for Labour and Social Policy.
The Co-operative Research Programme (CRP)'s Call for Applications for conference sponsorship and research fellowships for 2014 is now open. The CRP supports work on sustainable use of natural resources in agriculture, forests, fisheries and food production.
During his visit to Rome, Mr. Angel Gurría attended the “International Conference on Structural Reforms in Italy”. The aim of the Conference was to take stock of structural reforms recently adopted in Italy and to identify further steps to promote competitiveness, growth and employment while ensuring social cohesion.

Within the Green Jobs Learning Forum promoted by the ILO, the Trento Centre organised an intense morning discussion involving local representatives to consider sustainable development strategies in the Autonomous Province of Trento.
"Greening the economy" is today one of the most pressing issues in OECD countries. This seminar reviewed the impact of climate change on local labour markets and studied the different tools and methods that can be used to help the transition to a greener local economy.
Discussions at this high-level event focused on financial literacy, behavioural economics and financial education and the importance of financial education in defined contribution pension schemes.
During his one-day visit to Italy, Angel Gurría discussed the preparation of the OECD ministerial council meeting 2010, which will be chaired by Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, and presented two new OECD reports on Italy.
The international seminar aimed to disseminate the results of an OECD LEED study on social inclusion undertaken in five Regions across Italy and Poland who are members of the ESF CoNET Network.
