Investment Compact for South East Europe › Social Innovation Competition in Croatia
The OECD launched a social innovation competition in Croatia July 2nd, bringing together academics, civil society, government and businesses, with the objective to develop solutions to tackle societal challenges.
Social innovation is expanding world-wide progressively as it offers solutions for wide-ranging societal challenges such as the employment of youth and people with disabilities, sustainable mobility, aging populations and environmental concerns. Through the competition process, the participants will be able to get support in forming the best partnership to develop and scale their ideas.
The competition is part of the larger programme on Social Innovation in Croatia. Through a variety of events, the competition will promote the overall awareness of the concept of social innovation.
Over 80 participants including social entrepreneurs, scientists, civil society representatives, local government representatives and students were present to learn about the competition.
Social media channels were used for the promotion of a brief promotional clip, using platforms of relevant organisations such as Social Innovation Europe, Ashoka, Impact Hub, and Euclid Foundation among others.
We look forward to assisting Croatian participants in developing their initiatives by 13 December 2015.
