This report benchmarks the region’s progress on SME development since 2009 and for the first time includes Turkey. Built on a set of 108 policy indicators, the SME Policy Index provides a framework to assess convergence of national SME policies with the ten principles of the Small Business Act for Europe.
This assessment represents the first phase of the project "SME Development in the Republic of Moldova", implemented by the OECD Investment Compact with the financial support of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Investment Compact for South East Europe (South East Europe Compact for Reform, Investment, Integrity and Growth) is a leading programme designed to improve the investment climate and to encourage private sector development in South East Europe (SEE).
This publication assesses to what extent governments in the region have leveraged their assets with effective policies to attract investment and stimulate growth.
