The Third International Forum on Tourism Statistics, organised by Portugal's National Statistical Office and Tourism Directorate in co-operation with Eurostat and the OECD, dealt with numerous issues including better use of existing statistical sources of information for tourism statistics, ways of studying the positive and negative impact of tourism on the environment, models and forecasting in tourism, the role of new technologies in the dissemination of statistics to all partners, and the linking of tourism statistics with other socio-economic activities.
