Co-organised by the Government of Colombia and the OECD, this conference is the second meeting of the Latin America and Caribbean-OECD Investment Initiative. Following on from the Initiative's launch meeting in Santiago, Chile, the second meeting focused on investing in infrastructure for jobs and development, specifically:
- business objectives in public-private partnerships (PPPs)
- government objectives in PPPs
- maximising the contribution of PPPs to social objectives
- preparing successful contracts for PPPs in infrastructure
- experiences in dispute settlement
- PPP peer reviews and business evaluations
This conference brought together policymakers, international experts and other interested stakeholders from business, labour, and civil society. The leading intergovernmental organisations in the region were also represented, including the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) and the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA), currently chaired by Brazil.
