The aim of this paper is to provide a statistical update of an earlier analysis on FDI in South East European countries and includes Moldova among the countries covered. Various features of FDI in the region and in individual countries are presented in 29 tables. This study, prepared by Gábor Hunya of the Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies, was commissioned by the Austrian Ministry of Economy and Labour.
These 11 country case studies are background information for the Handbook of Biodiversity Valuation.

Ten years after Hungary made the formal change from a centrally planned economy to a market system, the competition issues that appear in Hungary’s markets are comparable to those in other OECD countries in Europe. The general competition law is already 15 years old. It has been revised twice, most recently in order to mirror EU standards more closely.
