Dr Hans Kluge, Director, Health Systems and Public Health is a Belgian trained medical doctor with a Masters degree in Public Health. Previously based in the WHO Country Office in Myanmar and the WHO Country Office in the Russian Federation as the Director-General’s Special Representative, he has a wealth of country and management experience spanning several WHO Regions with a background of both health systems, public health and infectious diseases.

Hans moved to the Regional Office, Copenhagen in 2009 when he was recruited to the position of Unit Head, Country Policies and Systems and has since worked as the Regional Director’s Special Representative to Combat M/XDR-TB in the European Region and most recently as Acting Director, Country Health Systems.
