Practical information for journalists

 

Registration

To request registration to the OECD Forum on the Quality of Care, click here and fill in your details. The Secretariat will confirm your registration by email. Please note that the deadline for registration is 18:00 on October 4, 2010 (Paris time).

 

Journalists wishing to attend the Press Conference on Friday 8 October should send their name, media, employer and national press number to media.registration@oecd.org

 

A valid press card will be required on arrival at the OECD Conference Centre.


Thursday 7 October

  • 9:00 - 12:30 - OECD Forum on the Quality of Care. Meeting room CC1.  
    A high-level policy Forum, including Ministers and leading experts will discuss how to develop and use quality indicators to improve health care. Forum sessions are open to journalists. Consult the Forum programme.
  • 15:00 - 15:05 - Health Ministerial Meeting. Meeting room CC12.
    The meeting will be open to photographers for the first five minutes of the meeting.

Friday 8 October

  • 12:30-13:15 - Press Conference to present the final Ministerial Communiqué. Auditorium.

Media facilities

   

Cyber Café

Journalists will have access at all times to the Cyber Café in the OECD Conference Centre and to the main hall of the OECD Conference Centre. Relevant documents will be available there as well as laptop plug-ins.

WiFi Internet access

WiFi Internet access is available throughout the OECD Conference Centre. The WiFi network name (SSID) is HotspotOECD. To access the Internet, first open your browser and click on “CONNECT” whereby you agree to the OECD Hotspot terms of use (displayed following CONNECT). A more detailed description is available in the Cybercafé.

Broadcast

The OECD TV, radio and videoconference studios will be available to all broadcast journalists on a first come, first served basis. This includes cameras, editing facilities, ISDN lines and the necessary technicians. These facilities are available free of charge (more about our media facilities).

Mobile phone coverage

2G and 3G mobile phone coverage via the network operator SFR Vodafone is available in the OECD Conference Centre, other operators are less well covered.
