Annette Widmann-Mauz is Roman Catholic, married and lives in Baden-Wuerttemberg, in Balingen on the Schwäbische Alb. She was born on 13th June 1966 in Tübingen.


Background


Annette Widmann-Mauz studied political and legal science at Eberhard-Karls-Universität in Tübingen and worked, from 1993 to 1998, on a project of the European Commission at Tübingen University. Since 1998, she has been a member of the German Bundestag for the Tübingen-Hechingen constituency (direct mandate since 2002).

She is a member of, inter alia: the board of trustees of the foundation "Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe“, Berlin; "Donum Vitae e.V.“, Bonn - a Christian association which provides counselling to pregnant women in conflict situations; the "Eugen-Bolz-Stiftung e.V.“ for the promotion of democracy and international understanding in Rottenburg; Tübingen's museum society; the "Irma-West-Gemeinschaft e.V." in Hechingen which promotes local traditions and culture; the Tübingen association to promote the Swabian dialect and many other associations in her constituency.
