YOUTH AND INCLUSIVE GROWTH

Young people’s voices are not always heard in policy debates and are often left out of policy discussions that shape their future. By including young people’s voices in the policy process, policy-makers can leverage their creativity, increase the relevance of policy solutions for this group and build social capital thus contributing to inclusive growth.

WHAT IS THE YOUTH DIALOGUE ABOUT?

The OECD Youth Dialogue offered a platform for policy-makers and youth representatives to work together to discuss policy solutions that matter for building stronger, fairer and more inclusive societies.

The Dialogue drawed on the results youth engagement activities organised by countries over the past four months to get young people's views on how governments can listen and respond to their needs, understand their experience of civic engagement in public affairs, and how we can enhance their involvement.

WHO PARTICIPATES AND WHERE?

The Youth Dialogue brought together Ministers and representatives of youth from countries involved in the Ministerial meeting on Public Governance for Inclusive Growth.

The Youth Dialogue took place on Tuesday 27 October 2015, in Helsinki.
