Poor governance is a major reason why infrastructure projects fail The OECD Forum on Governance of Infrastructure looks at the governance frameworks, standards and instruments needed to ensure that infrastructure delivers the socioeconomic outcomes that they are intended to achieve. The Forum will also investigate:
how rapidly changing political & economic conditions influence infrastructure planning and project selection
the role of socio-economic and environmental considerations in decision-making processes,
the need and challenges of including the costs of climate change in infrastructure planning and delivery,
how to promote and ensure an expanded and disciplined approach to private sector involvement,
the value added as well as challenging role of technology for the sustainability of infrastructure governance.
Attendees The Forum brings together decision-makers from the public and private sectors, centres of government, ministries of finance, procurement agencies, regulators, sub-national governments, financial institutions and institutional investors, to exchange experiences and discuss good practices.
