NAVIGATING THE OECD WEBSITE

The OECD logo displayed on the top left of all of our pages enables you to return directly to the home page of our website.
Requests for permission to use the OECD logo must be sent to webmaster@oecd.org.

OECD Home (www.oecd.org)
Clicking on 'Browse / Home' on the left-hand column also enables you to return directly to the OECD home page.

Browse by Country (www.oecd.org/infobycountry)
This portal enables you to consult all the documents that pertain to a specific country. Simply click on the country you are interested in. In some cases - for member countries and a few non-member countries - you will get a dedicated website, in others simply a list of documents.

Browse by Topic (www.oecd.org/maintopic)
This portal features 27 topics that cover the scope of OECD research. Each topic contains documents from across all of our departments.

Browse by Department (www.oecd.org/maindepartment)
For those of you who are more familiar with the OECD administrative structure, you may prefer browsing by Department.

Find Statistics (www.oecd.org/statistics)
This portal enables you to browse our statistics by topic and to find a glossary, a Statistics Brief series, a selection of the most requested statisticsnews releases, and access to worldwide statistical sources, etc.

Find Publications and Documents (www.oecd.org/publications)
This portal provides you with an overview of our key publications and documents.
You can also visit our Publishing division's website for a description of our products and services, notably the Online Bookshop and SourceOECD, our online library, which are both gateways to our extensive catalogue of books, e-books, CD-Roms, periodicals and statistics.
'Browse our document categories' gives you access to all the OECD documentation sorted by type of document.

Top Navigation Bar
When you go deeper into a topic or a department, a navigation bar is displayed on the top middle of the page. It is contextual, which means that the content displayed under 'About', 'Statistics', 'Publications & Documents' and 'Information by Country' will only pertain to the topic/department you have chosen.

  • About
This heading enables you to read an overview on the OECD (if no topic or department has been chosen), or on a particular topic or department. For example, you can quickly glance at activities in topics such as Biotechnology , Sustainable Development or Education .
  • Statistics
This heading is suggested in the top navigation bar of a topic or department. It enables you to access only the statistics related to the topic or department selected.
  • Publications & Documents
OECD documentation has been sorted into categories of content following the Dublin Core method for searching and indexing Web-based metadata. With this in mind, you can search by document category.
This is also contextual so that you will be presented with only documents pertaining to the topic or department you have chosen.
  • Information by Country
This heading is suggested in the top navigation bar of a topic or department. It enables you to sort the information related both to the topic (or department) and the country selected.

Bottom Navigation Bar
The navigation bar that you find at the bottom of all our pages provides links to generic information about the OECD.

Right-Hand Column
The right-hand column is divided into two boxes.
The upper one called 'Don't miss' provides essential information related to the page you are on (e.g. 'Contact Us' and 'Site Map'). Sometimes you will find working papers or a list of external links. On the main home page of our website, you have in particular direct access to the Key Upcoming Events.
The other boxes provide access to the Online Bookshop, recently published titles (Books, CD-Roms, Policy Briefs, etc.), conferences, recent work and more.

Contact Us
A link to this section is available in the box 'Don't miss' in the right-hand column of the website's pages.
If you access this page from the OECD home page, you will find OECD's main contact points as well as information on the ''OECD Centres Around the World' '. If you access the 'Contact Us' page of a topic or a department, you will find the contact points for that particular part of the site (generic e-mail address or names and functions of the people responsible).

Search
The search engine is available in the top right corner.
If you click on 'More Search Options', you can restrict your search to a particular format, language, country, group of countries and/or date of publication. This advanced search can also be reached via 'Find Publications & Documents' suggested in the left-hand column of the home page.
An index (www.oecd.org/index) is also available to help you find what you search by keywords. You may also wish to consult our list of acronyms and abbreviations at www.oecd.org/acronyms.

MyOECD (www.oecd.org/oecddirect)
You can customize the OECD website to suit your interests by creating your own home page with only the information you are interested in. After registering, click on 'MyOECD' on the top right of the screen to access your personal home page. For more information, please click on 'E-mail Alerts' under 'Online services' at the bottom of the left-hand column of our home page

Terms and Conditions (www.oecd.org/terms)

Privacy Policy (www.oecd.org/privacy)
To consult our Privacy Policy and get to the OECD Privacy Policy Statement Generator which generated it, simply click on the corresponding link available at the bottom of each page below the navigation bar.

The path you have followed is indicated between the page content area and the top navigation bar. You can use this path as a back button.

USING OECD MATERIAL

Reproducing OECD Material
For reproducing and copying OECD material, please visit our 'Rights and Permissions' section at www.oecd.org/rights where are listed our conditions. A permission request form is also available.
Our Rights team, which also deals with translation agreements and co-edition partnerships, can be reached via rights@oecd.org should you need further information.

Linking to the OECD Website(s)
For any link, we refer you to paragraph 11 - "Linking to the OECD Website(s)" from our Terms & Conditions for OECD Website Usage that you can access at the bottom of every page: www.oecd.org/terms.
You are however reminded that you must refrain from:

  • posting or uploading on your website or database any OECD document. We suggest instead that you make a link to it, on the condition the OECD URL appears clearly.
  • making a direct link to the Browse-it versions of our publications available on our Online Bookshop at www.oecd.org/bookshop as they do not include the full functionality that the normal PDF has. We suggest instead that you make a link to the presentation page for this publication on our Online Bookshop (www.oecd.org/bookshop?pub=ISBN) or on the department or topic page where the publication is displayed. That way the reader can choose the version desired.

For any other permission, please consult our Rights & Permissions page at www.oecd.org/rights and contact the Rights team via rights@oecd.org.

Reciprocal Links
Please send your request to the OECD Webmaster through webmaster@oecd.org who will deal with each request individually, keeping in mind that, as a general rule, the OECD only links to official government websites.

LOGIN AND PASSWORDS

Connection problems with a password-protected site
The OECD has many online services and several password-protected websites. If you need help with one in particular, please use the email addresses provided below:

Unsubscribing to OECDdirect, our free e-mail alert service

  • Each e-mail alert contains a link allowing you to unsubscribe from that newsletter.
  • To unsubscribe completely log in to MyOECD from the top right of your screen, then click on 'Change my profile' and uncheck all the themes.

OTHER TECHNICAL PROBLEMS

Back button
The back button may not work due to a redirect script we needed to implement. When you hit back, it goes to the redirect page then back to the "home" page.
There are two things you can do to work around this problem. One, bookmark the page that you are redirected too because from here the "back" button works. The only problem would be if we change the structure of our site, in which case you would need to update your bookmark. The second solution is to click on the arrow on the back button instead of clicking on the back button itself. From the list that appears, simply select wherever you want to go "back" too.

Broken links
If you come across a broken link on the OECD website, please report it to the person or email address listed in the right-hand column of the page you are on, under 'Contact Us' in the box 'Don't miss'.
Please remember to provide us with the address of the page which has a broken link or the title of the document it was supposed to point to - and not the URL of the page pointing to the error message -, so that we can fix it as soon as possible.

Browsers
If your browser does not seem compatible with the OECD website, please send an e-mail to webmaster@oecd.org.

Search
If you encounter a problem with our search engine, please send a message to webmaster@oecd.org indicating what you were searching for. We will reply as soon as possible.
In the meantime, you may wish to consult our index at www.oecd.org/index. Our list of acronyms and abbreviations (www.oecd.org/acronyms) might also be of help to you.
