Labour Productivity Growth - Data: GDP, Annual Hours Worked, Total Employment, Total Hours Worked, GDP per Hour Worked
Labour productivity is defined as Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per hour worked; GDP is expressed in national currency, at constant prices, OECD base year 2000. Labour input is defined as total hours worked of all persons employed, multiplied by the corresponding and consistent measure of employment for each particular country

>>

Labour Productivity Levels - Data: GDP, Annual Hours Worked, Total Employment, Total Hours Worked, GDP per Hour Worked
Estimates of productivity levels and GDP per capita permit the comparison of standards of living and underlying factors across countries.

>>

GDP per Capita - Data: Breakdown of GDP in its components and differentials in GDP per Capita and their Decomposition
GDP per capita measures economic activity or income per person and is one of the core indicators of economic performance as well as a rough measure of average living standards or economic well-being. GDP per capita is broken down into labour productivity level (measured as GDP per hour worked) and differences in the extent of labour utilization, measured as the number of hours worked per capita.

Sources for Employment and Hours worked

Estimates of labour productivity require consistent estimates of total hours worked across countries. This file shows, for each country and each year, the sources of data used for calculating the estimates of employment and hours worked for the labour productivity growths.

>>

OECD Measures of Total Hours Worked
According to the 2008 System of National Accounts (2008 SNA), total hours actually worked is the preferred aggregate measure of labour input for productivity analysis. This document reviews current practices and measurement issues in producing internationally comparable total hours worked data.

MFP based on Harmonised Price Indices for ICT Capital Goods, Capital Input, Cost Shares, Total factor Input

The OECD Productivity database provides comparable rates of change of Multi-factor Productivity (MFP) for the total economy, measured by deducting from output growth the growth of labour and capital. Further details are available in the note below.

>>

Capital Services by Type of Asset Based on Harmonised Price Indices for ICT Capital Goods

The OECD Productivity database provides capital services estimates broken down by six or seven assets : IT equipment, communication equipment, other machinery and equipment, non residential construction, transport equipment, software, other intangibles, and three aggregates: total information and communication technology (ICT), total non ICT and total products of agriculture, metal products and machinery.

Note of Multi-Factor Measurement When Rates of Return are Exogenous

By Paul Schreyer (OECD).
Chapter 2, pp. 13-40 in W.E. Diewert, B.M. Balk, D. Fixler, K.J. Fox and A.O. Nakamura (2010), PRICE AND PRODUCTIVITY MEASUREMENT: Volume 6 -- Index Number Theory. Trafford Press. -
This paper examined productivity and growth accounting measures when rates of return to capital inputs are exogenously determined. Several hypotheses about competition on output markets and about technology are invoked, each of which is compatible with exogenous rates of return.
