China-OECD Roundtable on Innovation Policies
Organised by Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), People's Republic of China and the OECD
In addition to being the 50th anniversary of the OECD, 2011 marks the 10th anniversary of China’s first OECD observer status through its observership in the OECD Committee for Scientific and Technological Policy (CSTP). It was agreed by OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría and Chinese Minister of Science Technology Wan Gang that a joint MOST-OECD event could be organised to celebrate these milestones in the history of the OECD and to further co-operation with China.
This anniversary roundtable will focus on three policy issues of common interest to China and OECD countries: governance of national innovation systems, management of public research, and demand-side policies for innovation. Benefiting from insights from the OECD reviews of innovation policy and the latest CSTP thematic work, the roundtable will aim to facilitate the sharing of policy experiences and a better understanding on the topics.
