Black Sea and Central Asia Initiative Co-ordinator Colm Foy presented the Eurasian Competitiveness Programme and Central Asia Inititative at the International Conference “Outcomes of Anti-Crisis Programs and Priorities of Postcrisis Development” in Tashkent on 12 April, 2010 at the invitation of Rustam Azimov, First Deputy Prime Minister of Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Finance, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the conference.

“With the view of overcoming the global financial and economic crisis, governments of all states had to adopt anti-crisis programs, which differ from country to country by their content scope and results. After almost two years since the beginning of the crisis, it becomes vital to assess experience gained in coping with crisis and results of anti-crisis programs. Preventing the escalation of the new phase of the crisis in form of increasing inflation and new turmoils in financial markets, deteriorations in real sector of the economy becomes very important.
In this connection, discussion of developed and developing countries experiences, which succeeded in ensuring the balanced economic development and sustainability of banking and financial system in the crisis environnement, as well as their approaches to formulation of priorities and postcrisis development strategy is raising keen interest amoung government circles, international organizations and academic institutions.
As a contribution to the global discussion on the above isses, the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan is organizing an international Conference “Oucomes of Anti-Crisis Programsand priorities of Postcrisis Development” in Tashkent on April 12, 2010. “
