Governments are facing an increasing number of arbitration claims by foreign investors relating to important public policies or seeking substantial damages, and many governments are taking a greater joint interest in how such cases are resolved in investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS). This scoping paper has supported inter-governmental dialogue about ISDS at several OECD-hosted investment Roundtable meetings.

This survey of a sample of 1,660 bilateral investment treaties (BITs) identifies the main parameters of ISDS regulation in BITs; traces their emergence, frequency and dissemination over time; and highlights past and recent country-specific treaty practice.

Il analyse les différents moyens d’établir des prescriptions environnementales pour les installations présentant un faible risque environnemental (qui sont pour la plupart des PME).

This paper discusses the export performance of countries along the value chain by distinguishing upstream activities (i.e. the production of intermediate inputs) and more downstream activities (e.g. the final assembly of products).
The OECD STAN Bilateral Trade Database by Industry and End-use Category allows insights into patterns of trade in intermediate goods between countries to track global production networks and supply chains and helps address other related policy issues such as trade in value added and tasks.
Imports are often perceived as a threat to employment. However, access to imported intermediate inputs can be essential to stimulate innovation and employment. We investigate based on a unique dataset of Ecuadorian manufacturing firms, their final products and intermediate inputs.
