Disclosure of Beneficial Ownership and Control: Policy Options for Indonesia

This report assesses the costs, benefits and practicality of different policy approaches as well as suggests policy options to better identify ultimate beneficial owners in Indonesia. It was requested by Bapepam-LK, the Capital Market and Financial Institution Supervisory Agency in Indonesia, in the context of the OECD-Indonesia policy dialogue on corporate governance.

OECD-Indonesia work on corporate governance

This dialogue between Indonesia and the OECD supports policy-makers in their efforts to enhance disclosure of beneficial ownership and control as part of overall efforts to improve corporate governance standards and practices in Indonesia.

OECD-Indonesia Workshop on Disclosure of Beneficial Ownership and Control

This workshop provided a range of legislative and regulatory options for policy makers and regulators in Indonesia seeking to improve the disclosure of beneficial ownership and control. The discussion focused on key issues of design and did not attempt to set out a detailed blueprint for a disclosure regime.

The seventh Asian Roundtable on Corporate Governance in Balion 8-9 September 2005 focused on corporate governance of banks, a stock take of progress in policy reforms since the publication of the Asian White Paper in 2003, the role of the board in implementing the OECD Principles of Corporate Governance, and corporate governance of state-owned enterprises.
