5th OECD High Level Risk Forum

 

Washington D.C. United States, 8th to 10th of December 2015

 

The 5th OECD High Level Risk Forum (HLRF) brought together policy makers from 30 governments, practitioners from the private sector and experts from think-tanks and academia to share good practices with the aim to improve the governance and management of complex risks. 

 Topics discussed:

  • Identifying unforeseen pathways in transboundary risks
  • Global flows across international and territorial borders
  • Investing in the resilience of critical infrastructure systems
  • Strengthening policies for human security against interconnected risks
  • Future progress and sharing ideas across countries
  • Ongoing activities with Key Partners.

 

Two new publications were launched:

The Changing Face of Strategic Crisis Management  

This report highlights the changing landscape of crises that governments are confronted with today.  Topics covered include capacity for early warning and “sense-making”, crisis communication and the role of social media, as well as strategic crisis management exercises. Finally, the review proposes practical policy guidance for strategic crisis management.

 

Illicit Trade: Converging Criminal Networks 

This report provides analysis of some of the main areas of illicit trade, including trafficking in persons, wildlife, counterfeit medicines, narcotics, tobacco, alcohol and sports betting.
