Economic Affairs Editor
Ola Storeng was born in 1950 and is a Norwegian citizen. Mr. Storeng has since 1999 been Business Editor and Chief Economic Affairs Commentator of Aftenposten, the largest Norwegian daily.
From 1985 to 1999 Mr. Storeng was with the Ministry of Finance, holding positions, inter alia, as Deputy Director General in charge of the Monetary Affairs Division and the International Economic Affairs Division. From 1987 to 1989 he was on secondment to the World Bank, Washington D.C., and from 1994 to 1996 he served as Economic Counsellor at the Norwegian Delegation to the OECD in Paris. Mr. Storeng was Economic Affairs Correspondent at the Norwegian Broadcasting Cooperation from 1981-84. Earlier he held positions at Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1974-74), the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy (1978-80) and as an Assistant Professor in Economics at the BI Norwegian School of Business (1980-81).
Mr. Storeng holds degrees in Economics from the University of Oslo (M.A., 1978; B.S. 1972) and also studied History (B.A., University of Oslo, 1976) and Social Science (one-year scholarship, University of Delaware, 1970-71).
Mr. Storeng speaks Norwegian, English, French, Greek and some German.
