The Secretary-General of the OECD, Mr. Angel Gurría, was in Washington from 10 to 12 October 2013 to attend the Annual Meeting of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund, where he delivered statements at the International Monetary and Finance Committee and Development Committee. Mr. Gurría also attended the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors’ meetings, where he intervened on the state of the global economy, financial regulation and financial inclusion, and financing for investment.
While in Washington, Mr. Gurría also attended a luncheon with Governors of Islamic Development Bank, where he delivered a keynote speech on “Shaping the Post-Crisis Global Economy”. He also participated in a meeting of Finance Ministers of the Deauville Partnership, where he presented OECD’s support for the policy reform agenda in MENA transition countries. During his visit, the Secretary-General held several bilateral meetings with senior members of the US Administration and other participants in the Annual Meetings.
