    OECD Economic Survey of the United States: Research Findings on Employment and Financial Vulnerability

    This volume collects four studies that were prepared as background research to the 2018 OECD Economic Survey of the United States. Using micro-data survey responses, regional and sectorial data, these studies seek to provide insights into employment responds to labour market disruption and the drivers of household financial vulnerability in the United States. This volume represents a collaborative effort by a team of OECD and academic researchers.

    Revenue Statistics: Key findings for the United States

    The tax-to-GDP ratio in the United States increased by 1.2 percentage points, from 25.9% in 2016 to 27.1% in 2017. The corresponding figures for the OECD average were an increase of 0.2 percentage points from 34.0% to 34.2% over the same period.

    Stemming the Superbug Tide in the United States

    Resistance proportions for eight antibiotic-bacterium pairs in the United States have increased in recent years, from 20% in 2005 to 23% in 2015, and could go up to 25% by 2030, should current trends in antibiotic consumption, population and economic growth continue into the future. Resistance proportions in the United States were higher than the OECD average in 2015 (17%).
