The tax wedge for the average single worker in Spain increased by 0.1 percentage points from 39.3 in 2017 to 39.4 in 2018. The OECD average tax wedge in 2018 was 36.1 (2017, 36.2).

Digitalisation is changing the lives of citizens around the world. The pace of change is extraordinarily high, and in this respect Latin America and the Caribbean are no exception. In the period 2014-2017, mobile broadband penetration in the region rose from 50 to 70 subscriptions per 100 people, bringing many more citizens online for the first time. In just three years!
Our technologies, our innovation, our economies, need to be less artificial and more intelligent. How do we do that? How do we bring the human being, the values of inclusion and wellbeing to the heart of Artificial Intelligence? This is one of the greatest challenges of our days!
Mr. Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the OECD, will be in Barcelona on 25 February 2019 to attend the Mobile World Congress. The Secretary-General will deliver a Keynote speech at the AI Innovation, Ethics and Diversity session. He will also deliver remarks at the Investing in the Digital Transformation Ministerial session.
