Parking policies have significant environmental and economic implications, which have often been left unconsidered. This paper reviews the relevant literature to provide a deeper understanding of the main environmental and economic consequences of common parking policies, and suggest policy options to protect the environment and increase social welfare.
This paper assesses the effect of environmental regulations on plant survival and emissions using data on the extent of vintage differentiation of regulations (VDR5) regarding air pollution emission limit values for existing and new coal-fired power plants. Focussing on NOx and SOx emissions, the paper applies survival analysis techniques on a sample of generating units across 31 OECD and non-member countries between 1962 and 2012.

Opportunities for climate mitigation and adaptation lie in the shift to climate-smart infrastructure, as laid out in the report "Financing Climate Futures: Rethinking Infrastructure", by the OECD, UN Environment and the WorldBank Group. This report shows that limiting warming to 1.5°C will involve “annual average investment needs in the energy system of around US$2.4 trillion” between 2016 and 2035.

A clean energy revolution in sub-Saharan Africa is urgently needed to win the fight against energy poverty, to promote robust development and to make it more sustainable. As part as the Financing Climate Futures initiative by the OECD, UN Environment and the WorldBank Group, this report takes an in-depth look at the challenges and opportunities to provide clean energy access in sub-Saharan Africa.
On 29 January 2019, Eeva Leinala of the OECD Environment Directorate and Thomas Cortina from the Fire Fighting Foam Coalition and Mitch Hubert from Perimeter Solutions have addressed Best Environmental Practices for Class B Firefighting Foams in the context of management of per- and polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFASs).
This report outlines the customisation opportunities for IUCLID version 6. It also gives an overview of what IUCLID offers to regulatory bodies and industry as a key application to record, store, maintain and exchange data on chemicals. IUCLID is used in a variety of countries and regulatory contexts, therefore the report describes to which extent it is customisable to facilitate the management of chemical data across these contexts.
Today, OECD Council adopted the Recommendation on Countering the Illegal Trade of Pesticides to strengthen cooperation between countries and inspectors and identify illegal pesticides throughout their lifecycle with a Best Practice Guidance.

Environmental Performance Reviews provide an independent assessment and targeted recommendations aimed at improving policies that impact the environment. The third Environmental Performance Review of Denmark will take stock of the progress made since 2007.
