    Policy Brief: A Good Life in Old Age? Monitoring and Improving Quality in Long-term Care

    While the number of elderly people in need of care is projected to at least double, governments are struggling to deliver high-quality care to people facing reduced functional and cognitive capabilities. Based on a recent OECD and EC report, this policy brief looks at data and policies to measure quality in long-term care and drive standards of care up.

    As ageing societies are pushing a growing number of frail old people into needing care, delivering quality long-term care services – care that is safe, effective, and responsive to needs – has become a priority for governments. Yet much still remains to be done to enhance evidence-based measurement and improvement of quality of long-term care services across EU and OECD countries. This book offers evidence and examples of useful experiences to help policy makers, providers and experts measure and improve the quality of long-term care services.

Même en période de crise et de restrictions budgétaires, les flux migratoires internationaux sont essentiels au bon fonctionnement de nos économies, a souligné le Secrétaire-Général de l'OCDE.

    Reprise des flux migratoires mais les immigrés sont victimes de la montée du chômage

    Après trois années consécutives de contraction en période de crise, les flux migratoires sont de nouveau orientés à la hausse, principalement en raison des tendances observées au sein de l’Union européenne. Mais les perspectives d’emploi se sont assombries pour les immigrés, un immigré sur deux environ en Europe étant à la recherche d’un emploi depuis plus de 12 mois, selon un nouveau rapport de l'OCDE.

    Conference to launch the The OECD Analytical Report on Displaced Workers. This report uses a comparable methodology to examine job displacement in its consequences in 15 countries. Along with providing more reliable international comparisons, this study provides new findings about the impact of displacement on skill-use and job benefits, issues that have received relatively little attention in the research literature.

    Les inégalités de revenu se sont davantage creusées pendant les trois années qui ont suivi le début de la crise jusqu’en 2010, qu’au cours des douze années précédentes, et ce avant que ne soient pris en compte les effets de la fiscalité et des transferts sur les revenus, d’après de nouvelles données de l’OCDE.
