Two Governance Reform topics were the focus for discussions at this 2nd meeting of the Global Network on Privatisation and Corporate Governance of SOEs, namely SOE board nomination, functioning and evaluation; and establishing, organising and reforming SOE ownership entities.
Organised in Paris on 1 March 2010, task force discussions focused on transparency and accountability and the selection and quality of the boards of SOEs.

This event focused on the impact of the global financial crisis on Asia and the Asian response, as well as the implications of current market turmoil on stock and bond markets and unregulated entities; products and markets; financial education and awareness; regulatory efficiency and corporate governance.
Taking place in Paris on 18-19 February 2010, the 9th OECD Global Forum on Competition will focus on state aids and subsidies and collusion and corruption in public procurement. Participants will also discuss a peer review of Brazil's competition law and policy.
Opening the 9th Global Forum on Competition, Mr. Gurría talks about the concerted global effort needed to promote competitive markets which will support the recovery from the crisis.
