The OECD Council has adopted a number of non-binding Recommendations on competition law and policy. In addition, the Competition Committee has adopted Best Practices. These Recommendations and Best Practices are often catalysts for major change by governments.
This OECD database provides unique information about global penalties, geographic extension, industries, dates, jurisdictions, cartel participants and more. It builds on the world renowned database on private international cartels first developed by Prof. John M. Connor. The September 2019 release covers more than 200 cartels investigated in around 50 jurisdictions between 2012 and 2018.
