Argentina - Competition Law and Policy


Argentina participates actively in the OECD-IDB Latin American and Caribbean Competition Forum and the OECD Global Forum on Competition. Argentina also participated at meetings of the Competition Committee from 1997 to 2005.

Fighting bid rigging in the procurement of public works in Argentina

The OECD and Argentina's Competition Authority have started a project in 2018 to review Argentina's procurement practices in the public works sector. The results are scheduled to be published by the end of 2019. Read more about the project.

Argentina’s competition regime was first reviewed in 2006 during the 4th meeting of the OECD-IDB Latin American Competition Forum held in El Salvador.

This report provides an in-depth analysis of its competition practices, includes a chapter on different sectors and sets out recommendations on how to improve government policy and the local competition authority's enforcement / advocacy practices.
