This newly released publication reviews current knowledge about agricultural policy and agricultural trade policy settings, and aims to inform and assist policy-makers and negotiators as they seek to overcome the problems encountered in the agricultural pillar of the Doha Development Agenda trade negotiations.

The data and analysis presented cover OECD countries and major G20 and emerging economies that account for the great bulk of global food production, consumption and trade.

Publications & Papers

This paper synthesises the results of a broad range of OECD analyses on the agricultural components of some 53 regional trade agreements. It identifies those components that can be trade constraining and explores ways in which future RTAs can faciltiate trade.


Fishing for Development brings together the conclusions of a global dialogue between the fisheries and development policy communities on policy coherence in fisheries and aquaculture. It highlights policy priorities to maximise the contribution of the sector to economic development and food and nutritional security.


This report summarises the current situation in fisheries and aquaculture, observing that in many parts of the world these sectors are at risk and do not reach their full potential. It emphasises the need for a strong, science-based approach to stock management for resource sustainability.


In addition to identifying best practices in sustainable agricultural management, the report examines the role, performance and impact of farm advisory services, training and extension initiatives in the OECD area to foster green growth in agriculture.


The review assesses the performance of Colombian agriculture over the last two decades, evaluates Colombian agricultural policy reforms and provides recommendations to address key challenges in the future. The study also establishes a Producer and Consumer Support Estimates Database for Colombia.


The report examines agricultural policies in Switzerland and makes recommendations concerning the role of regulations, reducing trade barriers and export subsidies, reducing direct payments to farmers and increasing incentives to produce high quality products at competitive prices.
