Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe
Tuur ELZINGA is a senator for the Socialist Party (SP) in the Netherlands since June 2007. In the Senate, he is the Socialist Party spokesperson on Employment, Labour Affairs, Social Affairs, European Affairs, International Trade, Investment and Development Co-operation. Elzinga is an active member of OECD's Parliamentary Network and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). He was appointed as the PACE rapporteur on the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and on the Council of Europe Development Bank. He also chairs the PACE Sub-committee on Relations with the OECD and the EBRD. In 2012, Elzinga was a member of a five-strong special task force for the renewal and restructuring of the Dutch trade union movement. Since 2007, he is a senior advisor on international solidarity co-operation with the FNV, the largest Dutch trade union confederation. Together with Global Union Federations, he is currently defining a Global Decent Work Programme for stronger unions, better work, better lives.
