Dean, Blavatnik School of Government
Founder and Director of the Global Economic Governance Programme
Professor Ngaire Woods is the inaugural Dean of the Blavatnik School of Government and Professor of Global Economic Governance. Professor Woods is a recognised world authority on international relations, global economic governance, the challenges of globalisation, and the role of international institutions. She founded and is the Director of the Global Economic Governance Programme. She helped to lead the creation of the Blavatnik School of Government at Oxford University and, before her appointment as Dean, served as the School’s Academic Director. She has authored books and numerous articles on international institutions, globalisation, and governance.
Other activities include: World Economic Forum GAC Chair; member of the IMF European Regional Advisory Group; Rhodes Trustee; member of the Advisory Group of the Center for Global Development (Washington DC) and the Board of the Overseas Development Institute (London); editorial and advisory board member of several journals; and Governor of the Ditchley Foundation.
