Alexandrine Bouilhet became Deputy News Editor of Le Figaro in 2013. From 2008 to 2013, she headed the macroeconomics division, managing a team of 15 journalists, including 10 foreign correspondents in countries that included the United States, China, Russia, and India. She was also responsible for commissioning and editing stories, as well as print and web layout. Between 2003 and 2008, she worked as Le Figaro's EU correspondent in Brussels, covering EU economic and political news on a daily basis. Working as a special reporter on international service from 2000 to 2003 with assignments in the United States, Asia, Africa and Europe, Ms. Bouilhet covered major global events, including 9/11 and the war on terrorism. She began her career in journalism at Le Figaro in 1994, working as a general news reporter on crime, politico-financial investigations and the fight against corruption.
