OECD-ADBI Seminar on Disaster Risk Financing in Asia, 2016

The OECD and the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), with the support of the Government of Japan, organised a seminar on disaster risk financing in the Asian region.  Debates focussed on:

  • Designing a disaster risk financing strategy
  • Country case studies – the development of disaster risk financing strategies

  • Managing public asset exposures

  • The special case of flood risk

This event took place back-to-back with the Roundtable on Insurance and Retirement Saving on 22-23 June 2016.

 

This event brought together government officials and experts from public authorities, including regulatory and supervisory authorities, ministries of finance, representatives from international organisations, standard setter bodies, the academic community, the private sector as well as NGOs.

 

Session 1: Designing a disaster risk financing strategy
