OECD at the One Planet Summit

12 December - The President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, the President of the World Bank Group, Jim Yong Kim, and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, addressed the ecological emergency for our planet by calling together in Paris international leaders and committed citizens from around the world at the One Planet Summit: Public and private finance in support of climate action.

OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría participated in Panel 4: Strengthening policies for ecological and inclusive transition.

11 December - The OECD High-Level Breakfast on Institutional Investors and the Low-carbon Transition is hosted by OECD and the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC). 

To meet climate objectives, policy makers need to understand investors’ perspectives. Risks and opportunities also need to be correctly priced, and investors need to have attractive opportunities to invest in low-carbon, climate-resilient infrastructure.

6 December - First meeting between Angel Gurría, OECD Secretary-General and French Minister of State, Minister of the Ecological and Solidarity Transition, Nicolas Hulot.

This interview highlighted the OECD's participation in the One Planet Summit on 12 December 2017.

The One Planet Summit brought together the international community to accelerate the fight against climate change and focused on mobilising finance for the implementation of the Climate Paris Agreement, a topic on which the OECD is working through the Centre for Finance and Green Investment.
