The annual 2010 REPIN meeting was organised by the OECD/EAP Task Force Secretariat and hosted by the State Environmental Service of Latvia on 8-9 November in Riga, Latvia.

The meeting was focused on the following major topics:

• financing public environmental programmes in Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia: progress on medium-term budgetary approaches;
• performance-oriented regulatory programmes: indicators and risk-based planning;
• better balancing economic, fiscal and environmental objectives; and,
• issues of institutional capacity development.

The Latvian hosts shared their experience of reforming regulatory programmes as part of Latvia’s accession to the European Union.

The main outcomes of the meeting are reflected in its Summary Record.
