The OECD has been working on the economics of climate change since the late 1980s. Thanks to this experience, we have developed a capacity to help countries to identify and implement cost-effective policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as well as to integrate adaptation to climate change into all relevant policy areas.

The economics of climate change mitigation: Policies and Options for Global Action Beyond 2012".
Objective
The purpose of the Conference was to bring together high level experts, government decision-makers and representatives from civil society to discuss how climate change mitigation and adaptation can best be tackled in an economically efficient manner, including by ensuring sufficient incentives for participation by all.
