Enhancing higher education system performance - Stakeholder dialogue

It is important to maintain and strengthen the engagement of higher education institutions and other stakeholders with OECD work on higher education. This will not only provide opportunities for the OECD to gain valuable feedback on the higher education work but also enable the OECD to get the sector’s perspectives on emerging trends and policy concerns in higher education.

A stakeholder dialogue process will ensure that the views, insights and perspectives of a wide range of stakeholders – higher education institutions; their representative bodies such as national rectors’ conferences; regional and international networks and groupings of higher education institutions; students groups; employers and unions; representatives of academic and other staff; foundations and research centres working in higher education – are properly taken into account.

This approach recognises that the OECD’s work benefits from the voice of higher education institutions and other stakeholders. Input from this broad range of stakeholders will enrich the work’s quality and relevance and help to ensure that the OECD remains in touch with developments and emerging challenges in the higher education sector.

OECD Higher Education Stakeholder Forum

The OECD Higher Education Stakeholder Forum is a vital part of the OECD’s work on higher education and represents the first step in an ongoing and broad consultation between the OECD and higher education stakeholders. The Forum provides an opportunity to gain valuable feedback on the higher education work from a broad range of stakeholders and enrich the work’s quality and relevance. It also helps ensure that the OECD remains in touch with developments and emerging challenges in the higher education sector.

OECD Higher Education Stakeholder Forum 2019

The next OECD Higher Education Stakeholder Forum will be held in 2019. Participation is on an invitation basis and free of charge.

Participants will be asked to work together to provide input and feedback on the OECD’s work on higher education and exchange views. To facilitate this interactive approach we are limiting the number of participants to around 200 key stakeholders from around the world and a range of different organisations.

Registrations will open closer to the date.
