Francesca Borgonovi is a Senior Analyst at the OECD. Prior to working on the “Strength through Diversity project: she was responsible for data analysis and analytical work in the PISA and the PIAAC teams with a particular focus on: gender and socio-economic disparities in academic achievement; outcomes of migrant and language minority students; and student engagement and motivation. Her recent publications include The ABC of Gender Equality in Education: Aptitude, Behaviour, Confidence and Immigrant Students at School - Easing the Journey Towards Integration.
Francesca has been Adjunct Professor at the Paris School of International Affairs at Sciences Po and held visiting positions at the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley and the London School of Economics. (Contact)
|Lucie Cerna is an Analyst in the Directorate for Education and Skills, OECD, Paris and a Research Associate at the Centre for Migration, Policy and Society (COMPAS), Oxford. Previously she was a Lecturer in Politics at Merton College, University of Oxford, and an Assistant Professor in Global Challenges (Political Economy) at Leiden University, the Netherlands. Lucie has published widely on migration issues – her most recent book is Immigration Policies and the Global Competition for Talent (Palgrave Macmillan, 2016). (Contact)|
|Özge Bilgili is an assistant professor at Utrecht University and was awarded a Thomas J. Alexander fellowship to work on migrant students’ cognitive outcomes and broader well-being using data from PISA. Her expertise is on immigrant integration, transnationalism and education research and policy analysis in relevant areas. She is the chair of Dutch Association for Migration Research (DAMR), the co-coordinator of of IMISCOE Standing Committee on Interactions of Migrant Integration and Transnationalism in Europe (IMITE) and an affiliated researcher of United Nations University MERIT.|
|Diana Tramontano is the Project Administrative Co-ordinator for Migration and Gender Equality in the OECD’s Directorate for Education and Skills. She comes to the project after similar roles within the PISA team, including work on the creation of the PISA for Schools and PISA for Development projects. |Alessandro Ferrara is a Trainee with the Migration team. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in International Economics and Management from Bocconi University in Milan, and is currently doing a masters in Economics and Social Sciences in Bocconi, spending the last semester in Sciences Po in Paris for an exchange. He became passionate about education after working for a start-up non-profit school in Johannesburg, managing its expansion and testing the results of their innovative teaching methods.|
|Jose Marquez is a PhD researcher in the School of Education in the University of Leeds and has joined the team as a Trainee. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Carlos III University and a master’s degree in Comparative Public Policy and Welfare Studies from the Syddansk Universitet. Jose has previously worked as a researcher and data analyst in relation migration and child and youth well-being issues in several organizations and research centres. He has been awarded with an ESRC scholarship to carry out his PhD research, which focuses on the possible impact that different public policies may have in the subjective well-being of socioeconomic disadvantaged children. As a quantitative social researcher, his interests are in children and young people’s well-being and socioeconomic disadvantage as well as in social and education policy and migration issues.|
