Mathematics teaching and learning strategies in PISA
Mathematics Teaching and Learning Strategies in PISA uses data from the PISA 2003 assessment to examine the relationships between teaching strategies, student learning strategies and achievement in mathematics. The report aims to identify instructional practices and learning strategies that contribute to increased achievement in mathematics and general knowledge. It then explains how these strategies may be related to different countries’ school system structures.

Learning mathematics for life: A perspective from PISA
This report provides and in-depth examination of 15-year old students’ mathematical literacy using the results of the second survey of the PISA, PISA 2003. Chapter 1 provides examples of the questions the students answered. Chapter 2 discusses their performance by mathematical subtopic area and competency clusters. Chapter 3 examines the influence of item format and level of reading on difficulty. Chapter 4 discusses the assessment and interpretation of students’ problem solving skills and Chapter 5 presents a view of mathematical literacy and instruction in an international context.

PISA Take the Test: Sample Questions from the OECD's PISA Assessments
Curious to know the kinds of questions students taking the PISA test have answered? "PISA Take the Test" presents all the publicly available questions from the PISA surveys. Some of these questions were used in the PISA 2000, 2003 and 2006 surveys and others were used in developing and trying out the assessment.

Where immigrant students succeed - A comparative review of performance and engagement in PISA 2003
This report examines the performance of students with immigrant backgrounds and compares it to that of their native counterparts. As well as providing information on countries' approaches to the integration of immigrants, it looks at other factors that could influence immigrant students' performance - such as their attitudes to school, their motivation and learning strategies as well as their social background and the language spoken at home - giving valuable implications for educational policy.

Are Students Ready for a Technology-Rich World? What PISA Studies Tell Us
Drawing on PISA data, Are Students Ready for a Technology-Rich World?: What PISA Studies Tell Us examines whether access to computers for students is equitable across countries and student groups: how students use ICT and what their attitudes are towards ICT; the relationship between students' access to and use of ICT and their performance in PISA 2003; and the implications for educational policy.

PISA 2003 Technical Report
The PISA 2003 Technical Report describes the complex methodology underlying PISA 2003, along with additional features related to the implementation of the project at a level of detail that allows researchers to understand and replicate its analyses. It presents information on the test and sample design, methodologies used to analyse the data, technical features of the project and quality control mechanisms.

PISA 2003 Data Analysis Manuals for SPSS and SAS users
These manuals are an essential tool for researchers, providing all the information required to understand the PISA 2003 database and perform analyses in accordance with the complex methodologies used to collect and process the data. They include detailed information on how to analyse the PISA 2003 data, enabling researchers to both reproduce the initial results and to undertake further analyses.

Learning for Tomorrow's World: First Results from PISA 2003
This report presents initial results from the PISA 2003 assessment. The report goes well beyond an examination of the relative standing of countries in mathematics, science and reading. It also looks at a wider range of educational outcomes that include students’ motivation to learn, their beliefs about themselves and their learning strategies.

Problem Solving for Tomorrow's World: First Measures of Cross-Curricular Competencies from PISA 2003
This report looks at the ability of 15-year-old students to solve problems encountered in every day life which are not obviously linked to knowledge acquired at school.

PISA 2003 Assessment Framework - Mathematics, Reading, Science and Problem Solving Knowledge and Skills
This publication presents the conceptual underpinnings of PISA 2003 assessments. Within each assessment area, the volume defines the content students need to acquire, the processes they need to perform, and contexts in which knowledge and skills are applied.
