Higher education and regions in IMHE-Info

"IMHE Info" newsletters include articles about higher education and regional development.

The IMHE activity on higher education institutions in regional development began in 1997 with the project "The Response of Higher Education Institutions to Regional Needs" which highlighted the theme through case studies. In 2004-2007 this work was followed by the project "Supporting the Contribution of Higher Education Institutions to Regional Development" which was based on reviews of 14 regions following a common OECD template. The work continues in 2008-2010 with reviews of higher education in regional development. Now the focus is on city-regions and rapidly developing economies.
