University facilities need to adapt and provide a quality environment for teaching, learning, research and as a workplace. At this conference, the topic will be explored through the lens of four themes, ensuring quality facilities, green campuses, the role of public private partnerships and efficient facility management systems. This will be the third conference held by the OECD in the series: Higher Education Spaces and Places: for Learning, Innovation and Knowledge Exchange, and follows those held in Helsinki in May 2008, and in Riga in December 2009.

31 May- 1 June 2012: OECD CELE / World Bank international workshop : Ready, Steady, Go! Inspiring Design of Learning Environments for Early Childhood Education and Care, Moscow, Russian Federation
Organised by OECD and World Bank, in collaboration with Government of Sakha Republic (Yakutia), National Ministry of Education and Moscow City Government
The workshop, which involves regional educational authorities, urban planners, experts, will focus on current research on linkages between design and quality of facilities, and developmental outcomes of young children; examples of exemplary completed projects, projects under development or ECEC facilities in use; examples of national and regional frameworks and legislation on the design and construction of facilities for ECEC.
22-24 February 2012: A Recipe for Success: Transforming Learning Environments through Dynamic Local Partnerships, Turku, Finland

11-12 May 2010: "Usability and Sustainability of Learning Environments", joint symposium of CIB W111 and CELE, in Manchester, United Kingdom.
A two-day symposium organised with the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction Working Group W111 on Usability of Learning Environments (CIB W111) explored the aspects of usable and sustainable learning environments. The symposium was held within the context of the CIB World Congress "Building a Better World", held on 10-14 May 2010.
