Austria performs well in many measures of well-being relative to most other OECD countries. A traditional model of separated gender roles seems to have worked well in the past but has come under strain recently. Progress towards a more gender-equal society would improve work-life balances and has the potential to achieve stronger, more sustainable and more inclusive growth.
